Ministry Partners

Mission Statement: DCC is a community of people who are changing lives locally through building caring relationships that demonstrate the love of God to all people.

John 13:34-35: “A new command I give to you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”

Local ministry at DCC is built on God's many commands to love and serve our brothers and sisters, both believers and non-believers alike. As Christians, we are called to care for fellow humans and to help those in need. At DCC we have done this through partnering with various local organizations. Please click on the links to learn more about the organizations that we serve.

Habitat for HumanityHabitat For Humanity

At Habitat for Humanity, we believe that everyone, everywhere deserves a decent place to live.

It's a simple idea that changes lives. It changes families. It changes communities.

Ultimately, it is an idea that is changing the world -- one home, one family at a time.

Volunteers are an integral part of every aspect of Habitat's work. Volunteers build our homes, join our committees, help in the office or work on special projects. Volunteering with Habitat enables you to meet great people, learn new skills and most of all - make a difference!

DCC is proud to have collaborated on building a home for a family from start to finish! We also participate in one time builds when Habitat is in need of the volunteers.

General Information:

  • Builds run Wednesday through Saturday from 9am to 4:30pm, and we do ask for a full-day commitment
  • Everyone on site must be 16 years old or older
  • No construction experience is required
  • We provide all the safety equipment and tools you'll need

Individual Sign up:

Visit www.habitatmetrodenver.org to sign up. Go to the Volunteering section, then Construction, and click on the blue box that says "Volunteer Now." That will take you to the online sign-up system where you can view the different build sites and the different dates we are looking for volunteers. You can sign up two months in advance, but we regularly have immediate needs so check the web site often!

Group Sign up:

Group sizes usually range from 3 to 10 people. We like to schedule volunteers one to two months in advance, so right now we're scheduling through March.

Extreme Community MakeoverExtreme Community Makeover

The primary purpose of the Metro Denver Extreme Community Makeover (ECM) is to serve the people of Denver neighborhoods through practical, hands-on help such as yard work, house repair, painting, graffiti removal, general clean up, and other improvement activities. By building relationships with community residents through meeting tangible needs, we are also able to assist in meeting other physical, spiritual, or emotional needs through connecting people with local ministry resources.

Through the initiatives of Confluence Ministries, DCC is part of a coalition of volunteers from churches and faith-based groups, businesses, civic organizations, and others that serves home owners and others who need and want assistance.

Extreme Community Makeover needs:

  • someone to help oversee ECM's computer lab that would be open to the community

Park Forest Care CenterPark Forest Care Center

Park Forest Care Center provides quality care for persons with mental illness, brain injuries and dementia.

Park Forest is home to a wide variety of people from all walks of life; people who have amazing and touching stories, which we are honored to share in. Most of the residents do not have family and friends to visit and it is left to staff and volunteers to reach out and let the residents know how special and loved they are.

Each year, DCC has a Christmas tree with the wish lists of every resident at Park Forest. We are privileged to take those gifts in person and get to see the joy and excitement as they open them! We also share in other various activities and events with the residents of Park Forest.

Park Forest needs:

  • Area Rugs with Rubber bottoms
  • Pillows and waterproof covers
  • Toothbrushes and toothpaste
  • Nail polish
  • Makeup
  • Books
  • Good disposible razors (3 or 4 blade)

Denver's Road HomeDenver's Road Home

Denver's Road Home is a comprehensive plan to end homelessness in the city of Denver, CO. DRH is about creating opportunity and helping people regain control of their lives. Through DRH, five small groups from DCC have “adopted” families to mentor and help obtain stable housing and positive living environments. Four of these families are refugee families from Burma while the fifth is a local Denver family. Through DRH, we have provided first month's rent and deposit to help the family obtain housing, and we will walk along side these families to model positive physical, emotional, and spiritual growth and we will empower the families to obtain stability and self-sufficiency.

GoodwillGoodwill

Goodwill's mission is “to ensure that every person in the community has the opportunity to live to his or her potential and to attain personal and economic self-sufficiency.” Goodwill believes in the power of work as a means to self-sufficiency and a transformational element in the lives of the more than 23,000 people served each year. Goodwill promotes sustainable change throughout the community and supports a growing economy through a model that provides education, training and opportunities to help the working poor, people moving from welfare to work, and disabled adults attain true self-sufficiency.

Goodwill serves as a link between the education and business communities by providing intensive, classroom-based career development services to more than 20,000 students in 29 area schools. These programs help students stay in school, graduate and prepare for post-secondary education or immediate entry into the workplace following graduation. Goodwill’s youth programs are proactive, preventative programs designed to help teens establish real-world connections between education, career development and the local business community. Goodwill is partnering with DCC by providing mentoring opportunities.
