For many years, talk of generosity within the Church has caused many faithful people to squirm in their seats, hold on to their wallets a bit tighter or clench their purse shut. Some of this is due to the way many churches have spoken about money and gone on to use it. However, the idea of generosity is much bigger than just money. It is a posture, a stance, a way of holding what we have and a way we choose to see the world. It is a simple recognition that we have something to offer others, and choosing to share it. In the end, we do make a choice, one is to be closed and the other is to be open. We will discover, the more open we are, the more we participate in the Divine life.
