Denver Community Church Pastoral Residency Program

Are you interested in how the church can engage a city’s most difficult problems? Are you motivated by leading others and help them develop spiritually? Do you think you may be called into ministry in an urban context?

Denver Community Church’s Pastoral Residency Program seeks to equip and empower the next generation of church leaders by creating an intentional space and training structure for Residents to journey with DCC staff.  We seek to increase access to church leadership and ministry opportunities for historically under represented communities; including but not limited to women, LGBTQ and BIPOC.

Each resident will spend an intentionally planned year, divided into 8, six weeks segments with 8 ministry areas. These ministry areas are INC, DCC Kids, Worship & Arts, Adult Ministries, Hospitality, Project Renew, Executive Team and Teaching. During the 6 week windows, DCC staff will be tasked with including the resident in all areas of their ministry; planning, volunteer meetings, events etc. as well as giving the resident a reading assignment, related to their ministry area

This highly selective residency requires 10 hours per week of applied work for one year (July – June) in broad-based exposure within Denver Community Church (DCC).  Criteria for selection include spiritual maturity, strong character, ministry skill, references, academic record, and employment experience. In order to encourage diversity in pastoral training for those under-represented in the theological academy, DCC will give preference to such candidates (including women, LGBTQIA+ and ethnic minorities).
